Day 4- Love Our World Prayer Guide0

Deuteronomy 4:6-7

Keep them and do them, for that will be your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, who, when they hear all these statutes, will say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’  For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as the LORD our God is to us, whenever we call upon him?  

In this passage, God is calling the people of Israel to “keep and do” the commands he has given them.  God has something in mind with their obedience that reaches far beyond their own lives.  Other nations will marvel at the … get this … nearness of the LORD through the wisdom they perceive as Israel obeys the Lord’s commands.  WHOA!  Over the past few days, we’ve noted how from the beginning of Creation, God has had the mission of redeeming his people on his heart.  He uses the church as that vehicle;  He uses us.  But have you ever considered that our obedience to our King is a megaphone to the nations about the greatness and nearness of our God?  Understanding the gospel brings about obedience, and our obedience leads us on mission.
