The Love Our World prayer guide walks through the entire Bible, providing devotionals about the mission of God throughout the Old and New Testaments.  Day one was from Genesis one, today we are in Genesis 12.  Enjoy your time with the Lord:

Genesis 12:1-3

Now the LORD said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.  And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.  I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. “

This is a big moment.  God is focusing his redemptive plan on a specific people, a nation that will come out of the line of Abram.  God will not just bless one nation, but will use one nation to bless all nations.  This promise, that God’s ultimate intentions were from the beginning to bring men and women from every race into the new humanity he was forming, surfaces hundreds of times in the Scriptures.  Jesus’ arrival & the foundation of the church was a confirmation of this promise (Acts 3:25).  You and I are the “children of Abraham” called to carry God’s blessing, the gospel, to every nation.  35% of the world has no “child of Abraham” bringing God’s blessing to them.  Could God be calling you to the nation we are praying for today?  Where has he already placed you to carry the blessing found in Christ to those who need it?  Open your heart to that as you pray for the areas below:
