The EQUIP seminars on Sunday nights are off to a great start. Last night, small groups pastor Spence Shelton gave his take on systematic theology and explained why the pursuit of theological understanding is both necessary and wonderful. He gave a call to study systematics, a framework to approach it, and then led a discussion on how to apply a theological framework to everyday situations. Click here for the notes from last night.
Two weeks ago, Brad Hambrick gave us an in-depth framework on how to help one another walk through times of struggle with sin and with suffering. He showed us that those are two different struggles, but which require somewhat different approaches, but explained clearly how both approaches are rooted firmly in the gospel. Brad has produced a solid manual on the topic, which you can view here.
Video and audio will be available eventually, but why wait? This teaching is always better in person, so join us the next couple of weeks to hear and discuss:
June 19, 6-8pm Why We Trust the Bible, Dr. Ed Gravely.
June 26, 5-8pm Overcoming Anger, Brad Hambrick (yes, there’s an extra hour of goodness for this talk)
July 10, 6-8pm Evangelism Training, Rupert Leary.
