Equip Seminars, Round 11

The Equip Seminars started with a thunderous bang last night.  Suite 111 was packed causing the small groups team to scurry around finding chairs and drinks for everyone.  Dr. Bruce Ashford delivered a powerful presentation that walked us through the entire Bible … twice! 

In the first half, Bruce walked through the themes of Creation, Fall, Redemption, and New Creation and how they make sense of the world in which we live.  This is God’s story, and hearing it last night allowed us to understand more of God’s majesty.  Understanding God’s story also helps us understand our story and our place in God’s world.  Bruce made it clear that we are to create culture that brings glory to God.

In the second half, Bruce walked through the Old Testament, highlighting many of the passages that foreshadowed the coming Messiah.  He has a great power point, linked below, which you should use to follow along with the second half of his talk.  All of us there last night gained a deeper appreciation for Jesus as the Lamb that has taken away the sins of the whole world.  Audio will be posted here very soon!

There are still three more seminars coming your away, so please take advantage of this great time of teaching and training by experts in their field.  This week, Dr. Sam Williams will train us in counseling.  This should be a very important and valuable talk, particularly for those involved in small groups.
