EQUIP: What’s new for 20120
Posted In Blog
The EQUIP ministry at Summit exists because of our passion for what Ephesians 4:12-13 commands: ”to equip the saints for the work of ministry for building up the body of Christ, until we attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God.” This is an ever-growing, and desperately needed, ministry at the Summit as we grow bigger year after year. So here’s to to watch for in 2012:
EQUIP Leadership Forums.
Starting January 17th, 6:30pm-8:30pm in BC South. The Summit Elders are coming together to produce resources and invest in the leaders (present and future) that we have in our congregation. God has given us a huge vision, to plant 1,000 churches in 40 years, and a growing congregation filled with leaders and culture- changers. In order to accomplish our mission, we are going to need thousands of leaders to rise up, serve, and be sent out. These monthly events is our chance to come together, sharpen each other, and move forward in that mission.

Evangelism Resources.
Right now, in conjunction with the Jonah series, the small groups are going through Jesus in my Place, a curriculum on Evangelism. On the website, we’ll be providing materials for further evangelism training as we go through this series. You can find the small group material on this website, including 5 videos that Summit leaders made: http://www.summitrdu.com/index.cfm/PageID/3421/index.html
Keep looking on that page throughout the next two months for more resources!
EQUIP Counseling Seminars.
Brad Hambrick is going to tackle the subject of sex in the month of February. This is a can’t miss, two-part, series on Sunday nights February 12th and 19th from 5-8pm. Part 1 is called “False Love: Overcoming Sexual Sin from Lust to Adultery” and part 2 is “True Betrayal: Overcoming the Betrayal of Your Spouse’s Sexual Sin.” Most of us know someone who has been affected by sexual sin, and it can be such a powerful and emotional topic. If you want to know more about how to walk with someone who has been affected by sexual sin, these seminars will provide the essential resource for doing that.
These seminars happen to fall in between two sermon series, and so if you’re looking for something to do with your small group these weeks, bring them to these EQUIP seminars.
Our hope is that you take full advantage of these resources and that we can serve you in 2012 so that we can grow up in every way in Christlike maturity.
