Pray.
- - Two years ago, members of Al-Qaeda murdered Christopher Leggett, a powerful servant of God in Mauritania. Pray with Chris’ father that, “through his physical death, thousands will continue to be challenged passionately to join him in demonstrating God’s love.”
- - Islam has been entrenched in Mauritania with little challenge for 1,000 years. Many barriers to change have been erected including governmental regulation hindering the proclamation of the Gospel, resistant social structure, and isolation from the outside world. Pray for greater spiritual openness and hunger for God.
- - A combination of governmental corruption, environmental scarcity, and lack of education makes Mauritania one of the neediest countries in the world. One-third of the children in Mauritania face chronic malnourishment. Pray that God would bring physical healing, education, jobs and resources to this country. Ask that more believers would be a part of what God wants to do in Mauritania.
- - Praise God for the opportunity to reach Mauritanians living in other areas of West Africa, France, Spain, and the USA. Pray that these scattered people would be evangelized and that Mauritanian believers would increase and carry the Gospel back to their people.

Hey guys, just some encouragement. I have spent the summer in Senegal, West Africa on a Summer Project with Campus Crusade for Christ. I was actually supported financially by the Summit Church. Senegal is the country directly below Mauritania, and is also predominantly Muslim. I spent all summer working on a campus of 95% Muslim students. A lot of seeds were planted and it was definitely discouraging at times but God is preparing that place for a future harvest. We shared the Gospel about 1,000 times with over 450 different people, most of whom had never heard it before. 9 people put their faith in Christ. One from a Muslim background. He was part of the Wolof people group, which is unreached. Many of the people who came to faith in Christ are now sharing their faith with others even now that we are home. God is at work in West Africa, and I’m convinced that Mauritania isn’t far behind. It is a closed country but even these Senegalese students are able to have much more impact there than we are. God is moving, and we need to move with him in prayer and with people! Thanks for reading this, I hope you’re encouraged.
