Pray for Bangladesh

Capital: Dhaka

Official Language: Bangla
Literacy: 41.1%

Pray:
-Hundreds of Christians demonstrated this month in southern Bangladesh after Christian leaders were beaten in a police station. The abused leaders were seeking justice for Christians whose property had been forcibly seized. Please pray that God would grant His children peace and strength as they seek to honor Christ, while enduring hostility and persecution within a nation deeply rooted in corruption.
-Due to the impoverished nature of the people of Bangladesh, pastors often minister while also working full-time jobs. Ask that the Father would bless those shepherding their flock with wisdom from His word, and the strength to endure. Ask the Father to also foster unity among the small pockets of persecuted believers, as well as a deep desire to reach the tribal peoples who have yet to hear the Gospel.
-Praise the Lord for the progress made against poverty in Bangladesh. With a third of the country annually flooding during rainy season, Bangladesh fights to produce enough crops to feed its people year round. Pray that the thousands of NGOs present will aid in relief, as well long-term development and training. Pray that the Lord would raise workers to relieve the physical and spiritual hunger of the Bengali, the largest unreached people in the world.
