Pray for Bhutan

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the skies proclaim the work of his hands.  Day after day, they pour forth speech;  night after night they display knowledge.  There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.  Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the earth.”  -Psalm 19:1-4

Pray:

-Bhutan is one of the world’s least evangelized nations.  The government in Bhutan continues to be isolationist in its policies and antagonistic towards religion.  Pray Psalm 19, that the voice and words of the true LORD would go out to Bhutan and the ends of the earth.

-Christians are continually denied religious freedoms in Bhutan, such as public fellowship and gatherings in church buildings.  Bhutanese who place their faith in Christ face the loss of citizenship, free education, healthcare, and even access to electricity and water.  Praise the LORD that despite this persecution, believers are still increasing in number and spreading across the country.

-Pray for the Nepali population within Bhutan, which has suffered since 1990 under the Buddhist Bhutanese majority.  Up to 150,000 Nepali Bhutanese have been expulsed from their homes.  Ask that UN refugee camps continue to support Nepalese.  Pray that these displaced people are shown the compassion of Jesus through the refugee camp workers.
