Pray for Myanmar

“‘You are my witnesses,’ declares the LORD, ‘and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he.  Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me.  I, I am the LORD, and besides me there is no savior.’”  Isaiah 43:10-11

Pray:

-Buddhism holds a strong influence over the country of Myanmnar.  Most children are educated in Buddhist monasteries, so the impact is widespread.  Pray that people across this nation will come to understand that there is no god, and no savior, other than the LORD.  Pray that the false idols will crumble in the minds and hearts of the Burmese.

-Praise God for the continued growth of the church amid great suffering and repression.  Though the majority of believers in Myanmar are ethnic minorities, more and more Burmese Buddhists are responding to Christ.  Pray for this to continue until the entire country follows Christ.

-In Myanmar, the military junta consists of ruthless, self-serving policies of isolation which have impoverished the country.  There are violent crackdowns on protests throughout the junta’s history in power.  Pray for the intervention that will bring justice and pray for repentance of those who use their power in wicked ways.
