Pray

-On August 6th, protests broke out in London after the death of a man who was shot by the police.  The rioting spread throughout London and to neighboring cities resulting in fire, looting, many injuries, and a few deaths.  Since then, around 1,700 people have been arrested.  Ask God to use these riots as a wake-up call to people in the UK.  Many people identify themselves as Christian out of tradition rather than true faith in Christ.  England is the most secular of the four countries comprising the UK with only 6% of its population regularly attending church.  Pray that as they see the trouble in their world, they would take heart in Christ, who has overcome it all.

-Praise god that His Church is growing among many ethnic minorities in the UK.  London is arguably one of the world’s most international cities as well as a hub for international finance, travel, and politics.  God has used believers from the UK in great ways for centuries to influence the growth of the worldwide church.  Ask the LORD to continue to bless churches that remain passionate for the gospel and their influence in inner cities and around the world.
