PRAY:
- Tens of thousands of Yemeni protestors are taking to the streets to demand the resignation of President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who has been in power since 1978. The protests, which have led to over 100 deaths since February, are largely in response to high unemployment rates, political corruption, and a lack of political freedom. Yemen is the poorest country in the Arab world and faces diminishing oil and water supplies. Ask God to use political and economic dissatisfaction to draw the people of Yemen to Himself. Pray that this physically and spiritually dry country would sow righteousness and reap the fruit of Christ’s unfailing love.
- Pray for foreign workers who have had to leave the country during this period of unrest. Ask for increased strength for remaining national believers and boldness to share the gospel without fear. Praise the Lord for the increasing number of believers that do exist despite the 99.9% Muslim population, and for the pleasing aroma that they must be to God.
